My new song ‘Down the Driftwood Steps’. This song was written, recorded and produced entirely by myself using my acoustic guitar and my 80s synthesiser. I am always astonished by the variety of sounds that can be made with my synth and I have to really restrain myself from adding more and more elements. I have recently tried keeping my production as simple as possible and you might be able to hear that in my recent released. I originally wanted this track to have a country-style production because of the fingerstyle guitar but, as often happens, the song chooses what it wants to be and I have to go along with it. Any recording artist will know what I mean. My discography is generally quite melancholy so I wanted to make a somewhat happier song; something to get you through the cold winter months. I also made a music video for this song which is available on my YouTube channel (Rosa Lavenne). I hope you enjoy!
lyrics
Drops of silver moonlight, they will splash down on our skin
The waves, the sand, they could take the pain away from living
You know, it could be you and me, boy
You know, it could be you and me, boy
Let’s build ourselves a chamber of sand dunes and sea pink
Throw away our cares and curses, tell me what you think
You know, it could be you and me, boy
You know, it could be you and me, boy
Ooh, we’re still young and free
Ooh, we live by the sea
And let us not go gentle into that good night
There is only forever between us and the daylight
You know, it could be you and me, boy
You know, it could be you and me, boy
Ooh, we’re still young and free
Ooh, we live by the sea
Ooh, we’re still young and free
Ooh, we live by the sea
