My new gothic dream folk track ‘I See the Dead’. I made this song entirely myself using an acoustic guitar and an 80s synthesiser. It’s rather on the dark side lyrically and so I wanted to add some brightness with the flutes and gentle guitar strumming. As is often the case with my songs, it starts soft and gentle and gradually crescendos into a louder sound near the end. This was one of those tracks that was originally much more heavily produced and was only improved by taking stuff out. I have a tendency to keep adding if I don’t like the sound while recording and I am learning that, sometimes, improvements are made by stripping it down. I also made a video for this track using vintage, homemade footage from the 30s which is available on my YouTube channel (link on my profile). Please leave me any feedback you have.
