My new song ‘Miseria’ – a bit on the darker side. I wrote, recorded and produced this song entirely by myself using my acoustic guitar, 80s synth and looped beat track. Just a quick side note – I am aware that ‘miseria’ is not pronounced in Spanish or Italian the way I have done in the song; I had to change the pronunciation to fit the song. I have always wanted to add a Latin flavour to my songs as I think it adds to the romance, gothic style. I wanted a bit of a soft, dark Marissa Nadler-esque sound to the song with the fingerstyle guitar, flute and layered vocals. Lyrically, it’s just an exploration of themes such as loneliness, death and religion. All the usual stuff I’m pretty much always singing about lol. I hope you like this song and I would love to hear any feedback you have. Thanks so much for listening!
