My new song ‘Red Ribbons’. As per usual, this track was written, recorded and produced by myself using an acoustic guitar and an electric 80s keyboard. The track is about the death of Thomas Becket; a theme I have touched upon in some other songs of mine. I understand it’s a bit of a weird theme but I have always felt very compelled by the story. I mean, come on, an archbishop was murdered in his own cathedral on the behest (allegedly) of the king. At the time, it was the most famous murder in human history (except that of Christ) and I have wanted to use the imagery of Becket’s blood as streaming red ribbons for a few years now and never found the right opportunity. As you can tell, I am extremely cool and don’t have too much time on my hands at all. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this track, let me know what you think.
